Accessibility
Art knowledge should be usable.
Picartica aims to make its publication, databases and tools usable across keyboard, screen-reader, zoom and touch workflows.
Current approach
Public pages use semantic landmarks, a keyboard-focusable skip link, visible focus states, descriptive image alternatives, responsive layouts and contrast-aware text styles.
Interactive tools
Controls are labelled for keyboard and assistive-technology use. Tool outputs are presented as text where practical rather than relying on color alone.
Known limitations
Complex visual reference diagrams are inherently visual; captions and surrounding article text provide the primary explanatory alternative. Picartica will continue improving these descriptions.
Feedback
Report an accessibility issue through the Contact page and include the page, device and assistive technology where possible.
