How to use printable activities

Here is practical guidance for the activity types in Picartica's worksheet catalogue. These are general examples, not a verified inventory list for any unapproved paid bundle.

Count & Write

Point to each pictured object once, count aloud, then write or circle the total. Recount before checking.

Try next: Make a new object group and repeat the count.

Tracing

Start at the indicated point. Trace slowly in the printed direction, then try the same shape independently.

Try next: Practice the shape using a finger in the air.

Cutting

An adult supervises safe scissors. Follow the marked line slowly, turning the paper rather than twisting the wrist.

Try next: Try a slightly curved line once straight lines feel comfortable.

Read & Respond

Read or listen to the passage, underline important clues, then answer each question using text evidence.

Try next: Retell the passage in your own words.

Writing

Read the prompt, plan one idea, write neatly and reread the response for meaning.

Try next: Add another supporting detail.

Matching

Compare one picture or word at a time, then connect only the pair that truly belongs together.

Try next: Explain aloud why the selected pair matches.

Word Search

Read the target word aloud, scan across and down, then mark only a complete letter sequence.

Try next: Use two found words in a sentence.

Crossword

Read each clue, check the number of empty boxes and write one letter in each box.

Try next: Create a new clue for a completed word.

Maze

Find the start and finish, trace a route with a finger before drawing the final path.

Try next: Describe why a tempting wrong path was blocked.

Colouring / Coloring

Read the colouring or sorting instruction, then colour only the shapes or pictures requested, keeping inside the outlines.

Try next: Describe the colours and shapes chosen.

Colouring

Read the colour or sorting instruction, then colour only the shapes requested, staying within the outlines.

Try next: Describe the colours and shapes you used.

Solving

Identify the information given, choose a method, show the steps and check the result.

Try next: Solve a similar problem using different numbers.

Labelling

Look closely at the diagram and labels, then place each word beside its correct feature.

Try next: Explain what two labelled parts do.

Sorting

Say the sorting rule first, examine each item, and place it in a group that follows that rule.

Try next: Find a second valid way to group the objects.

Identifying

Notice the distinguishing feature in the instruction, then select the matching picture or word.

Try next: Explain one feature that rules out another option.

Mixed Practice

Work through the examples one at a time, reading every instruction before starting.

Try next: Choose one challenging item to try again tomorrow.
